Will Shami Kebab ever rule your kitchen?

History of Shami Kebab
Shami Kebab originated from Lucknow with the chef of Nawab Asaf-ud-dulah. Nawab Sahib was a great epicure, and as result, he sacrificed his teeth. Therefore he ordered his chef to cook something that he could eat "Meat " without chewing.
Let's put our teeth at ease and cook a Flavorful Shami kebab.

We need
1 kg Grounded beef
1cup Chana Daal
1 Inch piece of Ginger
5-7 pods of Garlic
1 tbsp jeera
One stick of  cinnamon,
 2-3 black cardamom
5-6 cloves
1/4 tsp whole black pepper
1 tbsp coriander powder
1tbsp Salt, or to taste
1 tsp heaped red chillies powder
1 tsp turmeric,
1,1\2 cup water
1tbsp Garam Massala ( grounded)

Next
We will put all ingredients in a pan, and cook until the water is dry.  If we are using a pressure cooker 5-7 whistles will be enough, if still water remains, let it dry.

Grind it in pestle and mortar for the best flavour or else a chopper can be used to grind. Add finely crushed 4-5 Green chillies at this stage to enhance the taste.
We have to grind it into a fine soft dough-type paste.
Let's make medium round-shaped flat patties and keep placing them in a tray.
 Tip ;
Can we freeze Shami Kebab?
Yes! We can keep this tray in the freezer, once it froze we will transfer it to a zip lock bag or box.It can stay fresh in fridge until 2-3weeks , depending on load- shedding.

In the last dip the Shami Kebab in beaten egg and shallow fry in oil until it's golden brown.

Enjoy Shami Kebab
with tea as a snack, or as a side dish with pulao, biryani, and daal chawal.
Shami kebab can also be used in sandwiches and Shami Kebab burgers.
